Q. How did the band form?

- We formed in August 2010, we've all played in bands together over the years playing different styles etc. This is the one we're taking seriously and trying to push as far as we can take it.

Q. What are your influences?

- Our influences are pretty diverse. The main ones would be along the lines of Nile, Decrepit Birth, Cynic, Atheist, Nasum and Between the Buried and Me. There's loads more though!

Q. What makes Nihilism Incarnate stand out from the rest?

- We like to think that what makes us stand out from the rest is that we aren't trying to sound like anything or anyone in particular. We just want to play fast, heavy, p*ssed off music that WE like the sound of and if other people like it too that's great! A lot of extreme metal bands out there at the moment try to be the brains of metal with technical stuff and complicated song structures, we want to be the heart and soul of it!

Q. What do you make of the M2TM competition?

- We're loving M2TM at the moment. Our first heat (heat 3) was the band's first gig and we were pretty nervous before we went on stage. We've had a great response from the crowd and organisers about our first set so it's given us a massive confidence boost. M2TM has given us a huge opportunity as a band and we are very grateful for it! The competition is getting tougher now though...

Q. Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so, what was your highlight? If not, why?

- We've not been to Bloodstock before, although a lot of our friends have, and I'm not really sure why not. It's one of those things where we always talk about it but never organise and do it. The line up looks fantastic this year though, we'd happily go just to see Nile again!

Q. Do you have any music out there that people can check out?

- We sure do! Our demo, named "Ad Initium" (recorded May 2011) is up on our facebook page. We're looking at getting some recordings of our newer songs done very soon.

Q. What’s next for the band?

- Next for us is to get a lot more gigs booked! We've made some friends through the M2TM competition so we've got people to help us find gigs and bands to gig with now. We're looking to record a mini album pretty soon and maybe have a video made once that's done. Winning M2TM and playing Bloodstock would be nice too! :P
