Rise to Addiction at The Old Turk, Dewsbury on 12th May, 2007

On Saturday 12th May, I attended the launch party of new release “A New Shade of Black for the Soul” from Brit rockers Rise To Addiction.

I have decided to leave the video interview more or less in it’s entirety, for your enjoyment. You’ll see how the interview took place, probably after one pint too many! A great night was had by all, and I will be catching up with these guys at a later date for a more sober interview; they have some great plans in the pipeline which I know will be of interest. It has to be said, believe it or not, this was the first opportunity the guys have had to let their hair down and enjoy themselves as a group since recording! (except for Aynsley of course who has no hair :p).The launch party for the album was very well supported, with the album being played alongside a video screen with some behind the scenes footage of the band. Their sense of humour shone through yet again!

As for the album, the music speaks for itself. Whilst RTA can certainly go main stream, they retain a harder edge for the head-bangers of you out there, yet a melodic side for the classic lovers. With intelligent lyrics, and excellent musicianship, Rise To Addiction are on the brink of what should be a successful career.
