Q

Hi Tony, tell us the story so far.

A Well, my brother and I started the band 2 years ago, none of us knew how to play an instrument, but we wanted to start a band so bad that we taught our selves how to play guitar and sing.

A few months later, one of our friends came over to our house and brought with him one of his friends that played guitar (Wally). After we met him, my brother and I asked him if he wanted to play in the band. He agreed, but we needed a drummer. A few months later we started looking for a drummer, Wally and I thought about asking one of our friends (Patrick). At the end we had almost everything except a bass player so I decided to play bass and sing, which is really difficult by the way. So far we've been together for 8 months and things are working out better than we expected. Through some difficulties things are going great.

Q

How did the band name come about?

A

Tony Meeks of 3 Kisses came up with the name Dark Every Day. We started out as “EverDark” but the name was taken. We were nameless for about 2 months until he came up with our current one.

Q

What’s the scene like in Austin, Texas?

A

There are tons of different bands with different styles, but everything is so cool here. Everyone supports each other.

Q

Is the underground supported well?

A

Yeah it is. We are a new band and all, so we don't have TOO many fans at the moment. The underground scene is awesome though.

Q

Do the bands support each other?

A

Yes, 3 Kisses, Marashino, Where Vegas Lies and The Challenge are only a few of the bands who have been supporting us.

Q

What bands are you into right now?

A

AFI, Avenged Sevenfold, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and Linkin Park are only a few of the bands we listen to at the moment. Tony and Manuel listen to hard rock a lot of the time. Wally is into rock as well but with more pop influences. Patrick listens to a little bit of everything, but mainly hardcore and metalcore bands.

Q

How did you get involved with Rat Pak Records?

A

Tish Meeks of 3 Kisses pitched us to Joe of Rat Pak and he gave us a chance and signed us.

Q

Rat Pak Records are describing you as one of the future hopes for the metal scene. What do you think the upcoming album has to offer fans?

A

Something new and something to rock to. Hopefully bring some good memories back for some old school rockers and punk rockers.

Q

What inspires you lyrically?

A

The world. The past, future, present, how people act, a wide variety of things. The main thing is other bands.

Q

What do you want to achieve with it?

A

To show people that there's always a way out, no matter what the situation. To leave something behind and move on.

Q

What are your plans to promote this album?

A

Playing shows and with Joe's help we will promote the album. Also with our MySpace page.

Q

And lastly, for fun, have you ever emailed or received anything by accident?

A

Not really...
