Q

Please introduce your band, the current  line-up and  what each of you do.

A

We are Coriolis Effect - Stean (vocals)  Ben (guitar) Hi Steve (guitar) Paul (bass)  Johno (drums)

Q

How would you describe the band’s sound?

A

Progressive metal core I guess, although we probably all have a different idea of what we are aiming to be.

Q

How do you approach your song writing and what is your lyrical theme/content?

A

Well nearly all of our songs are written by our drummer, he just turns up one day and has a new song ready for us to learn, then lyrically we have a strong nautical theme as our singer is obsessed with the sea and pirates.

Q

Who gets involved with writing of lyrics and melody? Is it down to specific individuals or a collaborative process?

A

Lyrics is Stean's area as he is the front man. He just sits back and listens to the track then next time we practice he has a song's worth!

Q

How often do you practice and have you any shows lined up?

A

Not very often at the moment as we have only just played our 3rd gig. We would like to book a small tour, like a weeks worth, then see how it goes from there :)

Q

What has been your best gig so far, and why is it so memorable?

A

Well I think we all agree on this one and it would be our 1st gig as we went out all guns blazing, had an awesome night, gained a few fans and received a really great response from the Preston promoters and just random people!

Q

What was the last song you listened to, either on the radio, your mp3 player, at a gig...?

A

Well I would have to say Carrion by Parkway Drive as I never stop listening to it haha

Q

Is there anything about the metal scene today that you would like to change?

A

Yes! We think that some bands out there need to relax and enjoy the fun of playing a gig! Help each other out and stop being so judgmental of other bands just because of their name lol.

Q

What do you think of the Preston/North West  metal scene right now?

A

At the moment the Preston metal scene is kinda low. There are a lot of good bands playing in and around Preston but the lack of a decent venue is stopping bands coming to Preston and also making Preston bands find out of town gigs.

Q

What do you consider are the benefits of initiatives like Rock On Preston and Get In The Ring?

A

Well, its a great chance to get your band heard and make something of your music.

Q

What’s next for the band?

A

We need to finish our EP so we can start giving that away whilst working on our album and hopefully booking a lot more gigs! Also we should be getting our merchandise soon so hope you like it :)
